Fire Spray to Steel Protection
Fire spray systems
Provide an efficient and highly effective method of protecting structural steel against the effects of fire.
At Australian Fire Rating (AFR), we specialise in spray-on fireproofing applications using gypsum based vermiculite and cementitious coatings to achieve the required Fire Resistance Levels while maintaining compliance with Australian building regulations. These spray products are highly efficient in protecting steel structures, offering up to 240 minutes of protection in a fire event.
Structural steel can quickly reach critical temperatures during a fire, causing it to weaken and potentially compromise the stability of the building. Fire spray coatings create an insulating barrier around the steel, significantly slowing heat transfer and allowing the structure to maintain its load-bearing capacity for longer. This added protection provides valuable time for occupant evacuation and emergency response efforts.
How Fire Spray Works
Suitable for a Wide Range of Projects
Spray-applied fireproofing is widely used across commercial buildings, warehouses, industrial facilities, plant rooms, and infrastructure developments. It is particularly beneficial where large areas of steel require protection efficiently and cost-effectively.
AFR applies fire spray systems to beams, columns, trusses, and other structural components while ensuring consistent coverage and performance throughout the project.
